VXL-4s | UPDATES | TELEMETRY

With your VXL-4s equipped Traxxas TQi vehicle , such as the Maxx Monster Truck, you can easily get some additional cool features if you have an Android or iOS (Apple) smartphone if you install an Traxxas Wireless Link module to the TQi transmitter!

These are features that you can't get on any other brand of vehicle!

	Buy a Traxxas #6511 Wireless Bluetooth Link Module to your TQi transmitter ⇒
	Download the Traxxas Link App to your own Android or iOS device. Click the download icons to the right ⇒
	Link your TQi transmitter with the Link Module installed to your Android or iOS device. Switch on the TQi transmitter and press the button on the Link module (blinking blue light), open up the Link App (make sure Bluetooth is activated) and click on Garage - > Traxxas Link Wirelsess Module -> Search for Traxxas Link Wireless Module = The blue light switches to solid blue when done. Open upp the Link App on your smart device and click Support - > Updates. Download the latest update.
	After you have completed the update you will get these included telemetry functions ⇒	RPM Speed Battery Voltage ESC Temperature (note that the speed reedings can be improved by installing an optional Traxxas GPS unit - see below)

With the Traxxas Link App you will get a lot of cool extras* to your VXL-4s equipped Traxxas TQi vehicle!

• Traxxas Link makes it easy to learn, understand, and access powerful tuning options.

• Control Drive Effects settings such as TSM assistance percentage; steering and throttle sensitivity; steering percentage; braking strength; and throttle trim by simply touching and dragging the sliders on the screen.

• When you have done an firmware update (to get the included telemetry functions as described on top of this page) or equipped your model with extra sensors, the Traxxas Link dashboard comes to life showing you speed, battery voltage, RPM, and temperature. Set threshold warnings and log maximums, minimums, or averages. Use the recording function to document your dashboard view, with sound, so that you can keep your eyes on your driving and not miss a single apex.

• The TQi radio system automatically keeps track of what vehicles it has bound to and what settings were used for each--up to 30 models in total! The Traxxas Link App provides a visual interface to name the models, customize their settings, attach profiles, and lock them into memory. Simply choose a model and any previously bound transmitter, power them up, and start having fun.

With your VXL-4s equipped Traxxas TQi vehicle, such as the Maxx Monster Truck, you can upgrade it with a couple of additional telemetry sensors for added speed accurancy (GPS module) or an external temp sensor to measure battery or motor temperature.

If you want to meassure GPS speed (instead of the included rpm based and calculated speed reedings) - Get this Traxxas part ⇒	#6553X	Telemetry Expander 2.0 & GPS Speed Telemetry 2.0 Combo Set This combo set includes the #6550X Telemetry Expander 2.0 and the #6551X GPS Speed Telemetry Module 2.0. With this unit you can also add extra telemetry sensors such as the external temp sensor #6526.
If you want to add extra telemetry sensors such as #6526 Temperature Sensor or #6550X GPS Speed Sensor - Get this Traxxas part ⇒	#6550X	Telemetry Expander 2.0 This unit does not include any telemetry sensors. Get this one if yoy already have the #6551X GPS Speed Telemetry Module 2.0 or you want to buy that (and/or other sensors) separately.
If you already have either the #6550X or #6553X Expander 2.0 unit and want to add an external temperature telemetry sensor - Get this Traxxas part ⇒	#6526	Telemetry Temperature Sensor Loop With this you can measure temperature from the battery or the motor (note that there is not a lot of space to attach the temp loop on the motor in the Maxx truck). You need either the 6550X or #6553X Modules to be able to connect it. The otherwise recommended temp probe mount for electric motors (#6535) does not fit that well on the Maxx motor as there is hardly any space for it due to the factory installed electric fan & heat sink.
If you already have the #6550X Telemetry Expander 2.0 and want to add the GPS Speed Telemetry 2.0 Unit - Get this Traxxas part ⇒	#6551X	GPS Speed Telemetry Module 2.0 With this you can measure the GPS speed correctly on your Traxxas Maxx truck regardless of gearing and tire size etc. Note that you must have the #6550X Telemetry Expander 2.0 to make use of the #6551X (or buy the combo set #6553X).

Note that there is a couple more telemetry sensors from Traxxas available but neither of those are suitable on the Maxx Monster Truck as of today (December 2019).
